Tāne Mahuta ( Summer Learning Journey)

One Reason I would like to visit Tāne Mahuta

One reason I that I would like to visit the Tāne Mahuta is because it is
the longest living tree in New Zealand. Some people call it the Lord
Of The Forest. Oneday I would like to stand right next to it and look
up to see where it ends.

  1. Hi Summer

Tane Mahuta is an amazing icon of New Zealand and is definitely known as the King of the Forest.
I am lucky enough to have seen Tane Mahuta and believe me, he is incredible. The biggest and oldest tree. They estimate that he is about 1500 years old. That's amazing.
Hopefully they are able to get the disease under control that is effecting the kauri trees in Northland. And that the visitors that go to see him are obeying the rules and washing their shoes when the enter and leave the forest.

How many people do you think it would take to join hands around him? I think it would take about 15 to 20 people. He is really wide as well as tall.

You will have to make sure that you add this to the list of places that you would like to visit. It is really worth it.

I hope that you are enjoying your holiday. It is a really good sunny day today and nice and warm too.

    Keep up the good work!

    Until next time

    Allie :)

  2. Hi Allie,
I think that it would also talk 15-20 hands.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays
