Summer Learning Journey

For this activity, read through the seven whakataukī (proverbs or metaphors) presented in this document. Choose one that has meaning for you. Create a poster that features the whakataukī and be sure to include at least one image (a drawing or photograph) on the poster that represents the whakataukī that you chose.

  1. Hi Summer, I´m Jess I go to Kumara School.

I like your post. I like how you wrote what the task was at the start of the post. I like your photo that you added to the post and how you used it as the background. Good job on writing where you got the photo from. I read in your blog introduction that you like going on your family's farm I also live on a farm with 600 cows. Do you live on the farm or just go and visit it? I also saw that you like to play with your pets. I have around about 25 pets, how many do you have and what kind of pets?
    come look at my blog:

  2. Hi Jess,
Thanks for commenting on my blog. That is a lot of cows. My nana and poppa, my pop and my step grandparents own a farm and they all have a lot of animals. I have quite a lot of pets like sheep, rabbits, cats and other animals.

    1. Hi Summer,
That´s nice, I have Fish, chickens, cats, dogs, a rabbit, budgies, goats, sheep,a lamb and Axolotls which are a kind of walking fish. We usually have pigs but not at the moment and we had ducks but we let them go because they were big enough. And the 580 cows.
I know right a lot of pets but I love them all. How often do you go to your grandparents farm?

    2. Hi Jess,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. I spend a lot of time on their farm with my younger sister. When I am older I want to be a farmer and or a vet because I want to work with animals. 580 cows is a lot of cows.

  3. Hi Summer,

I really like the whakataukī you have chosen. Why did you choose this one? Do you know what it means? You have also chosen a great image to represent this whakataukī as it shows lots of trees that it is talking about.

Don’t forget to attribute any images you use by adding a link to the website you borrow it from. Feel free to have a look on SLJ websites to see how we have attributed images and have a go at attributed next time :)

Another beautifully displayed post Summer. Ka pai!
